Hello, welcome to 4 Buckets, a community for musings on life, food, books, and pop culture. Pop down below and leave a comment, I promise I don’t bite.
Hero of the episode: Sawyer Zero of the episode: Radzinsky
Quote(s) of the episode: “What if this is our one chance to put things back the way they’re supposed to be.”—Jack to Kate | “I’m not afraid of anything you can do anymore, Ben.”—Locke | “All right, Dude we’re from the future. Sorry.”—Hurley to Dr. Chang | “I’m starting to think John Locke is gonna be trouble.”—Richard to Ben | “Well, now what?”—Eloise
Music vibes: threatening drumbeats; strings low and slow become faster and scarier when Richard talks to Sun
Little things: Locke promises Sun that if there’s a way to reunite her with Jin, he will do it; Hurley gets flustered when Dr. Chang asks Hurley if he’s from the future and how old he is; Eloise closes Daniel’s eyes as she covers him with a sheet
Episode notebook:
The episode picks up again with Daniel’s death, but from Jack and Kate’s perspective.
Jack finally believes in destiny, while Kate does not.
Jack and Kate are taken hostage by the Others and meet a young Charles Widmore.
Back in the present day, Locke, Sun, and Ben arrive at the beach camp to see Richard.
Sun asks Richard about the Dharma photo of Kate, Jack, and Hurley. He gives her an ominous message.
Eloise looks through Daniel’s notebook. Discovering her handwriting in his notebook is a shock.
Eloise questions Jack and Kate, promising to believe what they say. Jack says the only fix the future is to detonate the hydrogen bomb—the same one Daniel told young Eloise to bury years ago.
Radzinsky beats Sawyer for information about Kate’s location, forcing Juliet to watch. Not getting anywhere with Sawyer, Phil proposes a new tactic—hitting Juliet.
Sawyer relents in exchange for him and Juliet getting a seat on the submarine.
Hurley quickly wilts after a few questions from Dr. Chang, admitting he, Miles, and Jin are from the future. Miles tells Dr. Chang to listen to Faraday’s warning to evacuate the island.
Eloise, Kate, Jack, and Richard journey to the buried bomb—drawing new attention.
Sayid joins the pursuit of the hydrogen bomb. Kate decides her destiny is to find the rest of their friends and warn them of Jack’s plan.
Richard, Ben, and Locke take a trip of their own. On the way, Locke realizes Ben has never met Jacob.
Returning to the beach camp, Locke asks the important question: Why are they all following Jacob? Why do they take orders from a man they’ve never met? He convinces the group that they should all go meet Jacob.
Along with all the women and children, Sawyer and Juliet are put on the submarine. Kate is caught and put on the sub, too.
What does the future hold for everyone?
