Hello, welcome to 4 Buckets a community for musings on life, food, books, and pop culture. Pop down below and leave a comment, I promise I don’t bite.
Every time I hit “publish,” I hope someone out there reads my post, enjoys it, and feels compelled to return for the next one. If someone subscribes or follows my posts, well that’s just extra icing on the cake. Nearly a year into this creative journey, I have 71 total followers and last week I hit double-digit subscribers with 10. I’m grateful that anyone reads what I write, I know many aren’t as fortunate. To have ten of you subscribe and regularly receive my posts feels like a real victory—one worth celebrating.
Reaching double-digit followers happened pretty quickly, but I’ve hovered on single-digit subscribers for a while. So, when I hit 10 subscribers, it was a milestone I had to acknowledge and celebrate. I planned to mark the occasion with Häagen-Dazs chocolate chocolate chip ice cream, but it wasn’t in the budget this week. But I still wanted a sweet treat to celebrate. So, I worked with what I had in my fridge…Greek yogurt, frozen raspberries, maple syrup, and chocolate syrup!
This was a small win on the road to, hopefully, bigger wins. My subscriber/follower count will fluctuate, but here’s why I think it’s important to celebrate the small stuff:
Builds confidence: Seeing that double-digit number made me feel I was on the right track. It’s a reminder to keep going, keep improving.
Builds/maintains consistency: I’ve done my best to post twice a week, but sometimes it will be once a week. That seems to be working for me, so I’m going to stay on that track.
Builds/maintains a positive mindset: Celebrating the small wins makes me happy. If I’m happy, I feel motivated to do things. It’s all interconnected.
How do you celebrate small wins?
